内容摘要:Light-matter interaction at the nanoscale has been an important research arena since last few decades, for its significance in both fundamental physics and various applications. Particularly, the talk will focus on our recent progress on ultrafast coherent phonon manipulation and chiral optical interaction in chiral nanocrystals. (1) Understanding and even manipulating phonons represent a pre-requisite for tailoring phonons-mediated physical processes. We have developed various phonon manipulation schemes that can be achieved by a train of optical pulses in the time domain to selectively control phonon modes. Our modeling and simulation demonstrates an excellent agreement with experimental results, thus providing a future guideline on more complex phononic control at the nanoscale. (2) We have also studied cooperative chirality in nanocrystals enabled by our unique material design, demonstrating interesting chirality interplay between the crystal lattice and geometric morphology at different length scales. This work represents a new paradigm to study nanoscale chirality and new chiroptical building blocks.

报告人简介:余尚杰,2012年本科毕业于浙江大学,后赴美国马里兰大学电子工程系攻读博士学位,主要从事纳米尺度光物质相互作用及其应用研究。研究兴趣包括纳米材料超快光谱,等离子激元光学,手性光学,以及近场光学。近年来已在高水平期刊上发表多篇论文。
